What is an Index Fund?

An index fund is a fund that tracks a particular index, such as the S&P 500.

Why index funds?

• Low expense ratios compared to actively managed mutual funds
• Low turnover and therefore lower transaction costs
• Index funds are always fully invested and, therefore, they do not miss out on bull markets
